NICU RN Job Details Assignment Type : Travel Nursing Location : Washington, DC 20007 (DC nursing jobs) Healthcare Setting : Short Term Acute Care, Teaching Hospital Unit : 3 West NICU (Level III & IV) Start Date : November 3, 2025 End Date : February 2, 2026 Contract Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Night, 3x12-hour shifts (19 : 00 - 07 : 00) Hours per Week : 36 Weekend Requirement : 6 shifts per 6-week schedule Charting System : Cerner Estimated Weekly Salary : $1670 - $1790 NICU Registered Nurse Qualifications Minimum 2 years of recent Level III NICU RN experience required Active DC Registered Nurse license (pending accepted with proof at submission; must be in hand by start date) BLS (Basic Life Support) and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications required BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) preferred Experience with Cerner electronic health record system preferred Ability to float to Pediatric Transplant, Pediatric, and PICU units as needed Flexibility to work rotating shifts (days / nights may vary) Two supervisor references required First-time travel nurses accepted with required experience Flu vaccine required (no exemptions) NICU RN Responsibilities Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to neonates in a Level III / IV NICU environment Monitor and manage critically ill infants, including those requiring ventilator support, surgery, and advanced neonatal procedures Administer medications, blood products, and perform procedures such as central line care, high-frequency ventilation, and therapeutic hypothermia Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team including physicians, respiratory therapists, and social workers Educate and support families throughout the NICU stay Float to related pediatric units as needed to provide clinical support Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Cerner Adhere to hospital policies, infection control, and patient safety protocols Apply now to join our dedicated healthcare team as a NICU Registered Nurse in Washington, DC, and make a meaningful impact in neonatal nursing!
