Test Engineering Manager
We are seeking a Test Engineering Manager to lead a high-performing technical team in our server testing lab located in Pflugerville, TX. This role combines deep technical expertise with strong leadership and operational management skills. The selected candidate will report directly to the Sr. Business Excellence Manager and will be responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of server testingfrom unboxing and assembly to diagnostics and final packingwhile ensuring high standards of quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
What a Typical Day Looks Like
- Team Leadership & People Management
 
Lead and develop a team of skilled technicians and engineers.
Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and technical excellence.Conduct daily team meetings and performance reviews.Lab Operations & Technical OversightManage the end-to-end testing process : unboxing, assembly, diagnostics, and repackaging of servers.
Define and implement testing procedures, KPIs, and quality standards.Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, including root cause analysis and failure diagnostics.Customer & Stakeholder EngagementMaintain strong relationships with internal and external customers.
Lead daily meetings with clients to review progress, address concerns, and align on priorities.Ensure customer requirements and deadlines are met with precision.Budget & Capacity ManagementOwn and manage the lab's operational budget.
Monitor and optimize capacity planning based on volume forecasts and resource availability.Ensure cost-effective operations without compromising quality.Tools & Technical SkillsUtilize test software and diagnostic tools to support engineering activities.
Review and modify mechanical designs using SolidWorks to support server assembly and testing.Analyze yield trends and failure data to drive continuous improvement.The Experience We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).Minimum 3 years of experience managing technical teams (20+ direct reports).At least 4 years of experience in test engineering or failure analysis in electronics or high-tech environments.Strong knowledge of PCB, fiber optics, and server hardware.Experience with Oracle ERP systems.Proficiency in SolidWorks for design review and modification.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional discussions and resolve complex issues.Strategic thinker with hands-on problem-solving skills.Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-demand lab environment.Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail.Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results under pressure.Benefits
