American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Los Angeles, California.

Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with a valid CA license and strong cardiovascular, open heart, and balloon pump skills.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in a hospital ICU caring for adult and geriatric patients
  • Unit has 28 beds with an average census of 24, and nurse-to-patient ratios of 1 : 2
  • Night shift schedule : three 12-hour shifts per week, 19 : 00-07 : 30
  • Every other weekend coverage is required
  • No call requirement
  • Self-scheduling is available
  • Scrubs must be royal blue
  • Main duties include cardiovascular and critical care for complex ICU patients, including starting IVs, blood product administration, and suctioning
  • First time travelers are accepted for this assignment
  • RTO (requested time off) must be submitted prior to assignment and cannot be changed except to cancel days off
  • No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of assignment
  • Pre-employment modules and P / F testing are required before starting
  • Return staff considered on a case by case basis
  • Local candidates are accepted at the same rate

  • Active CA RN license required
  • Minimum 2 years recent ICU experience
  • Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • In-person VIP, MAB, or CPI certification required
  • Experience with open heart and balloon pump procedures required
  • Strong competency in dysrhythmia interpretation, ventilator care, arterial line management, central and PICC line care, ABG interpretation, and IV insulin protocols
  • References required for consideration
