Senior Underwriter, Inland Marine

Description

Ideal candidate must live and work remotely in the Eastern or Central time zones. Occasional travel to Alabama for inperson agency visits is required. This is a range posting and level will be determined by the Hiring Manager based on experience.

As an Inland Marine Underwriter in property casualty insurance, youll develop, grow and maintain diversified books of business while working closely with agents and brokers to assess risks, determine premiums, set conditions and negotiate deals that maximize profitability and meet business goals.

• Strategic Account Manager : As part of your portfolio strategy, youll ensure a profitable book of Inland Marine insurance by writing new accountsand growing successful agent and broker relationships and pursuing renewals
• Problem solver : Youll crunch the numbers and review the data to determine risk selection, premiums, policies and conditions, as well as identify opportunities for improved growth, profit and diversification
• Clear communicator : Youll maintain and nurture successful relationships with agents and brokers, while presenting proposals, negotiating deals and obtaining approvals
• Collaborative teammate : Contributing to overall team success, youll mentor underwriters in both a technical and professional capacitysharing best practices and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
• Conscientious professional : Understanding that the deal isnt done until the paperwork is complete, youll document account reviews, state-compliant sign-offs and referrals, letters of authority and follow underwriting guidelines
