Job Description

ADEX Healthcare Staffing LLC is seeking a travel nurse RN CVICU for a travel nursing job in Parkersburg, West Virginia.

Job Details : \n

  • Work 12-hour night shifts from 7 : 00 PM to 7 : 00 AM

    • \n

  • Every other weekend requirement

    • \n

  • Holiday coverage as needed to fill unit needs

    • \n

  • No call or standby requirements

    • \n

  • Nurse-to-patient ratios : 1 : 1 for fresh hearts and devices, 1 : 2 for ICU status patients, 1 : 3 for step-down status patients

    • \n

  • Must have experience with post-operative open heart patients (minimum 6+ hours post-op)

    • \n

  • Required experience with CRRT, temporary pacemakers, permanent pacer patients, acute MI pre / post cath care

    • \n

  • Must have experience with mediastinal / chest tubes, ventilator management, hypothermia protocol

    • \n

  • Required experience with arterial lines and various cardiac drips

    • \n

  • Preferred experience with IABP / Impella and hemodynamic monitoring / Swan-Ganz

    • \n

  • Responsible for titrating multiple cardiac drips including Cardizem, Cordarone, Nitroglycerin, vasopressors, and sedation medications

    • \n

  • Required to read telemetry strips every 4 hours

    • \n

  • Travelers float first to ACU, ICU, Med-Surg, and Telemetry units (maximum 6 patients on Med-Surg / Tele)

    • \n

  • Royal blue scrubs required

    • \n

  • One-week orientation including modules, EPIC training, and unit-specific training

    • \n

  • Required certifications : BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA)

    • \n

  • Must provide copy of unexpired driver's license with submission

    • \n

  • 50-mile radius rule applies

    • \n

  • EPIC charting system used

    Facility : \n

    This medical facility features an 18-bed mixed acuity cardiovascular intensive care unit that provides comprehensive cardiac care for both step-down and ICU status patients. The unit specializes in treating complex cardiovascular conditions including heart failure, cardiac arrest, myocardial infarctions, and post-operative cardiac surgery patients. The facility maintains 24 / 7 respiratory therapy support, in-house intensivists, and advanced cardiac monitoring capabilities with dedicated monitor technicians.
