Join Our Team as Assistant to the City Manager

Are you a motivated, civic-minded professional with a passion for public service? The City Manager's Office is seeking an Assistant to the City Manager - a key team member who will work at the heart of local government, supporting initiatives that directly impact our community. In this role, you'll coordinate a range of special projects, support leadership, and collaborate with departments and community stakeholders.

What You'll Do

Advance City Initiatives : Coordinate and support special projects that advance city initiatives, including business outreach, renewal of City certifications and designations, and pursuit of grants.

Serve Residents : Respond to resident inquiries and help improve city services through data-driven solutions. Find best practices for proposed programs and services and conduct impact analysis.

Enhance Community Engagement : Serve as a liaison to City committees. Communicate and coordinate with departments, agencies, and community partners.

Support City Leadership : Research and prepare reports, presentations, and recommendations for City leadership and public meetings. Assist City leaders with administrative issues and operational needs.

What You Bring / Your Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Economic Development, Business, or other related field from an accredited college / university.
  • Held a position or one (1) internship or fellowship in local government.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Master's degree from an accredited college / university in Public Administration, Political Science, Business, or other related field.
  • Completion of an International City County Management Association Fellowship, t wo (2) internships in local government, or one (1) year of experience in local government.
  • Membership in the Georgia City County Management Association.
  • Membership in the International City County Management Association.
  • You must submit BOTH a resume AND cover letter to be considered for this position.

We offer competitive wages starting from $72,126 to $79,504 annually . This position is exempt.
