Descripción del trabajoCompetitive compensation (Pay Per Session or premium rates) Consistent and timely payments Flexible, remote freelance role Exposure to MovieWeb’s large and passionate audience Fast-paced environment with potential for growth At least 1–2 years experience in digital journalism or online publishing Ability to independently write and publish clean, accurate news content on tight deadlines Solid understanding of entertainment media and current pop culture trends Familiarity with SEO and CMS tools Knowledge of AP Style and adherence to in-house standards Strong communication and time management skills Your CV A cover letter 2 sample news articles (can be links or PDFs)
Overview
This is a paid freelance, remote position
MovieWeb is a top destination for fans of television and movies, providing engaging and informative coverage of the entertainment industry.
As a leading authority in entertainment news, MovieWeb publishes at a fast pace and is always seeking talented, passionate contributors who can deliver compelling, high-quality content on deadline.
Responsibilities
- Self-publish news articles daily across movie and television verticals
- Monitor trending news cycles, including casting announcements, trailers, release dates, renewals / cancellations, and celebrity updates
- Ensure timely publication of relevant content aligned with SEO and engagement goals
- Coordinate with editors and fellow writers to maintain consistent daily coverage
- Contribute to news ideation, sourcing, and scheduling
- Follow editorial and formatting guidelines rigorously
- Available weekday mornings, ideally 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. EST (weekend availability is a plus)
