Responsibilities Position is in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) of a hospital setting Patient ratio averages 1 : 2 with 19 beds on the unit May float to Pediatrics and NICU based on skill set and hospital needs Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts (19 : 00 to 7 : 30), including every other weekend Utilizes Medtronic pacemakers, telemonitoring, BIPAP / CPAP, ventilators, high flow nasal cannula, and trachs Uses the EPIC electronic medical record system Responsible for delivering specialized nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients Required to float within skillset to units such as Pediatrics and NICU as needed Must be available to work at least 2 out of 3 major holidays as assigned Navy blue scrubs required Comprehensive orientation includes EPIC and unit-specific training modules prior to start and annually Candidates must not have worked full time or PRN at this health system within the past year to be eligible Local candidates are accepted at the same rate Requirements Active NJ or compact RN license required at time of consideration Minimum of 2 years recent PICU critical care experience required, with at least 1 year of cardiac experience strongly preferred Current BLS and PALS certifications required; NRP preferred Experience with Medtronic pacemakers and tele monitoring required Demonstrated experience with BIPAP / CPAP, ventilators, high flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomies required Candidates must provide documented experience on a skills checklist First time travelers will not be considered Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-639517.
