Labor & Delivery RN Job Details

Estimated Weekly Pay : $1,870 - $2,000

Assignment Length : 18 weeks (October 6, 2025 – February 9, 2026)

Shift : Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (19 : 30 – 08 : 00)

Hours per Week : 36

Self-Scheduling : Yes

Weekend Coverage : Every other weekend required

Holiday Coverage : Required as scheduled; one major holiday off may be requested

Floating : Required within Labor & Delivery specialty

Labor & Delivery RN Qualifications

Active Maryland or Compact Registered Nurse License

Minimum 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience (2 years preferred)

Previous travel nursing experience required

BLS (AHA), NRP (AAP or NRP), and STABLE certifications required

Experience with Epic charting system preferred

Charge RN, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I / II experience preferred

Must be comfortable floating within hospital units as needed

Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)

Must reside at least 50 miles from facility

References : 2 satisfactory professional references (1 supervisor / manager and 1 charge RN)

Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality nursing care to laboring mothers and newborns in a busy Labor & Delivery unit (patient ratio 1 : 3)

Assist with vaginal deliveries and Cesarean sections

Circulate for C-sections and recover post-operative patients

Administer blood products, magnesium sulfate therapy, insulin drips, and pain management interventions

Perform sterile vaginal exams, triage obstetrical patients, and monitor fetal heart rates using EFM

Start and maintain peripheral IVs and central lines (CVC / PICC)

Implement isolation precautions and PPE protocols

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including respiratory, radiology, pharmacy, and social services

Float to other units within the Labor & Delivery specialty as needed

Participate in self-scheduling and work every other weekend
