Avery Dennison is seeking a Sample Department Supervisor to lead and direct their Sample Department team. This is a working supervisor role responsible for overseeing all daily operations while also providing hands-on support to ensure the highest standards of efficiency, quality, and customer service. The primary focus is on leading, coaching, and developing a team of coordinators; however, the individual is expected to spend up to 30-40% of their time engaged in departmental tasks, either backfilling for team members or directly supporting production and fulfillment activities to meet business goals.

Key Responsibilities

Employee Development & Management

• Train, mentor, and provide development opportunities for the Sample Department staff to attract, retain, and develop high-potential talent.
• Perform general management duties, exercising usual authority concerning staff performance appraisals, promotions, and terminations. Ensure the Global Performance Management System is up to date with annual goals and regular, timely feedback.
• Act as a team role model and change agent, modeling and promoting the Corporation's Code of Business Ethics and Values.
• Positively lead and influence team members to collaborate and achieve individual and business goals.
• Manage daily staffing and workflow, including attendance / vacation schedules, to ensure adequate coverage and accommodate anticipated work volume.

Operations & Continuous Improvement

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field is preferred.

5+ years of related experience in a fulfillment, warehouse, or production environment.

1-2 years of demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience is required.

Strong understanding of applicable computer systems, such as Microsoft Office / Google Suite, and function-specific software (e.g., ERP / WMS, shipping platforms).

Excellent customer service, written, and verbal communication skills.

Possess strong leadership, mentoring, training, and project management skills.

Knowledgeable of Customer Service / Fulfillment operations and a proven ability to drive process improvements.

Experience with 5S or Lean principles is a significant plus.

The salary range for this position is $58,000 - $74,000 / year. The hiring base salary range above represents what Avery Dennison reasonably expects to pay for this position as of the date of this posting. Actual salaries will vary within the range, and in some circumstances may be above or below the range, based on various factors including but not limited to a candidate's relevant skills, experience, education and training, and location, as well as the job scope and complexity, responsibilities, and regular and / or necessary travel required for the position, which may change depending on the candidate pool.
