American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a stepdown telemetry position requiring a PA or compact RN license and advanced cardiac skills.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Position is in a 28-bed stepdown / telemetry unit within an acute care hospitalPatient population includes heavy cardiac cases, dysrhythmias, CVAs, and patients downgraded from ICUNurse-to-patient ratios are 1 : 4-5, with a ratio of 1 : 6 for MedSurg acuityUses both Epic and Cerner EMR systemsVent management includes Bipap, Cpap, and High FlowRNs work three 12-hour night shifts (7p–7a) per week, with every other weekend and one winter holiday requiredFloating to ICU as helping hands may be requiredCentral monitor station responsibilities for the hospital are part of the roleRNs are responsible for monitoring cardiac rhythms and titrating vasoactive dripsNo IV team is present; ICU support available for difficult IV startsHospitalist is in-house 24 / 7, intensivist available daily and on-call after hoursTwo nurse aides per day and mid-shift; no CNA support after 11p on nightsFloor-specific orientation includes 2 shifts with a preceptorNavy blue scrubs and jackets are requiredHoliday coverage rotates with permanent staff; one winter holiday per contract is requiredCandidates must not have worked at any WVU Medicine location in the past 2 yearsTravelers may not work within WVU facilities for longer than one year without a 2-year breakNo local travelers are accepted; must live more than 50 miles from facility\n \n Requirements\n
