Overview

Tax Technology and Transformation offers services to companies in response to the impact of existing and emerging technology, including the growing data burden that many businesses face, driving efficiencies to create a cost-effective tax function and the need to understand how to make data an asset. The underlying objective of the combined offerings is to help businesses navigate the digital age of tax transparency alongside new trends in tax compliance and tax audit methods, as well as helping to solve the most pressing challenges that businesses face.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities vary by specialization, but generally include supporting client projects and contributing to the development of a highly trained team. Activities may involve :

Assisting in the production of MS SQL Server, SharePoint and MS Power BI solutions

Implementing third-party tax applications

Supporting and automating internal and external operations of multinational tax departments

Maintaining high standards of quality and delivering commercial value

Owning bold initiatives and tackling new challenges in a highly regulated industry

Skills and attributes for success

Taking ownership of assigned tasks, including documenting requirements, configuration, testing, debugging, project profitability, and tax systems / process configuration

Identifying ways to automate manual tasks using existing financial or tax systems and emerging technologies

Consolidating tax data to improve analysis and planning

Improving reporting capabilities to help clients evaluate risk and opportunities

Supporting project team members to ensure timely deliverables

Qualifications

A bachelor's degree in Information Systems and / or a master's degree in Accounting, Tax Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Science or related field with eight years of related experience

Approved technical certification, CPA license or state Bar membership required

Strong interest in technology and its use in business processes

Excellent communication and business writing skills

Problem-solving mindset and entrepreneurial approach

Strong organizational and time management skills with client-serving consulting experience

Ability to capture and synthesize business requirements

Ability to lead a team, mentor counselees and manage client-serving work

Willingness to travel and work in a balanced hybrid environment

Ideally, you will also have

Experience implementing third-party tax systems (e.g., ONESOURCE, CorpTax, Vertex, Avalara, Longview)

Microsoft Office VBA development

Microsoft Power BI suite (Power Pivot, Power Query, Power View, Power Map)

Database design / development experience (SQL Server)

ETL development experience (e.g., SSIS)

ERP experience (SAP and / or Oracle)

SharePoint development

Experience managing large, multidisciplinary tax-related projects (ERP implementations, tax co-sourcing, finance transformations)

Competitive compensation and benefits package. Base salary range : $146,600 to $335,000 (NYC Metro / Washington / California ranges vary). Total rewards include medical / dental, pension and 401(k), and paid time off.
