Nacho Mama’s, a St. Louis favorite since 1994, is known for bold Tex-Mex flavors, friendly service, and a fun, fast-paced atmosphere. We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Assistant Manager to help lead our team and ensure smooth daily operations.

If you’ve worked as a restaurant assistant manager , shift leader , or front-of-house manager , this is your opportunity to grow with a local staple that values teamwork, great food, and great people.

Key Responsibilities

Staff Management

Hire, train, and schedule front- and back-of-house staff to ensure efficient daily operations.

Create and manage work schedules, assign tasks, and oversee employee performance.

Motivate team members and foster a positive, collaborative work environment.

Operations Management

Oversee day-to-day restaurant operations, including opening and closing procedures.

Manage orders, suppliers, cash handling, and daily reporting.

Ensure the restaurant runs efficiently, even during peak hours.

Customer Experience

Deliver exceptional guest service every shift.

Address customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints promptly and professionally.

Ensure all guests receive consistent, high-quality service.

Inventory & Cost Control

Maintain proper stock levels of food, beverages, and supplies.

Oversee inventory management, including ordering, stock rotation, and waste control.

Track and manage labor and food costs to meet business goals.

Health & Safety Compliance

Ensure all team members follow food safety and sanitation standards.

Maintain current health and safety certifications and staff training (food safety, allergens, alcohol awareness).

Uphold a clean, organized, and compliant restaurant environment.

Qualifications

1–3 years of experience as a Restaurant Assistant Manager , Shift Supervisor , or Team Lead .

Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Proven ability to manage staff and customer service in a busy restaurant setting.

Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and general restaurant operations.

Experience in Tex-Mex, fast-casual, or full-service restaurants is a plus.

Flexible availability including evenings and weekends.
