About The Position

Must-Have :

Proficient in Med / Surg care with experience in the use of Rapid Response / Code teams

Skilled in peripheral line care / management, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, and oxygen administration

Charge and precept experience preferred

Description :

This position requires a Registered Nurse specializing in Medical Surgical care.

The schedule consists of 3 twelve-hour shifts during daytime hours.

Charting experience in EPIC is required.

Weekend requirement may be every other weekend or six weekend shifts in a six-week scheduling block.

All requests for time off must be included with the submission.

The facility allows for one shift cancellation every two weeks.

The nurse must work one holiday over the 13-week contract period.

First-time travelers are accepted.

Candidates with an active Virginia State or Compact RN / LPN license are preferred.

The patient-to-nurse ratio is typically 1 : 6, with a possible flex up to 1 : 7.

The patient population will include a variety of scheduled orthopedic surgeries and other surgical procedures.

The nurse will be required to float within the skillset as necessary.

The facility is recognized for excellence in nursing and offers a supportive interdisciplinary team approach.

Compliance with vaccination requirements is necessary, with exemptions for medical or religious reasons allowed.
