Receiving Coordinator

The Receiving Coordinator is responsible for receiving, inspecting, and recording shipments with raw material or products. They are responsible for unloading packages and checking their contents to ensure they match the orders.
A receiving coordinator helps lead the receiving clerks and must have a great eye for detail and basic math skills. They must also have adequate physical strength to unload shipments as well as the clerical skills to update records and follow up with suppliers. The goal is to ensure that the company receives the correct packages and that the team stocks them appropriately.
Essential Functions :
- Collaborate with procurement staff to list expected deliveries
- Receive shipments and sign paperwork upon receipt
- Lead the unloading of packages from incoming trucks
- Inspect contents to ensure they are undamaged
- Verify packages according to order and invoices (quantity, quality, price etc.)
- Contact supplier or shipper if a mistake is identified
- Assume responsibility for returning unsatisfactory shipments or receiving replacements
- Label deliveries and allocate them to their designated place
- Ensure invoices are signed and paid for satisfactory deliveries
- Maintain accurate records and assist in inventory control
- Other duties assigned by the Warehouse Supervisor
Education and Experience :
Minimum requirement - High school diploma or equivalent GED. Associate degree or bachelor's degree preferred.2-4 years of prior receiving experience is requiredMust possess a moderate understanding of general aspects of the jobMust possess good written and verbal communication skillsPhysical Demands :

The employee may be frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles.The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. Hearing protection is available and encouraged.The passage of employees through the work area is average and normal.This position is a high-security position, and may pose a risk of exposure to criminal elements.
