$55.00/hr - $85.00/hr

• Design and update Instructions for Use (IFUs), reference guides, and carton artwork content and graphics (layout and illustrations) for new and existing medical device/combination products, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations, industry standards, and company requirements.
• Formulate instructional design strategies for individual projects that align with department and corporate instruction platforms. Coordinate with cross-functional teams (including Human Factors, Device Engineering, Marketing, Labeling, Clinical, Legal, and Regulatory Affairs) to manage individual projects, representing the Instruction Design group.
• Facilitate the extension of department platform designs into individual projects. Communicate daily with other designers about the impact on platform designs and update platforms as needed.
• Track change history of instruction materials during their development.
• Create prototypes of IFUs, reference guides, and carton artwork for usability studies, ranging from low fidelity (quick sketches) to high fidelity (refined resolution). High fidelity prototypes may involve plotting, trimming, folding, binding, laminating, and constructing cartons.
• Offer expertise and guidance to Human Factors engineering partners and other cross-functional partners on content generation, illustrations, layout, and formatting of instruction materials.
• Enhance process improvement programs and document cross-functional processes.
• Supervise junior staff and/or oversee external vendors to execute design work.
• Resolve complex problems and issues.

Top Must Have Skill Sets:

• Minimum 3-5 yrs PROTOTYPING small volume (10-100 pieces) cartons, leaflets, and labels for use in usability studies.
• IFUs
• Illustration
• Digital line-art
• Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
• Minimum 5-10 years of instruction design & IFU
• Minimum 3-5 years managing design projects and/or teams
• Medical, healthcare, medical devices and/or pharmaceuticals background.
• On-site (relocation accepted)
• Portfolio samples are required during submittal

Pay Transparency: The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is: $55.00 - $85.00/hr. Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience and the benefits package you select. Full-time employees are eligible to select from different benefits packages. Packages may include medical, dental, and vision benefits, 10 paid days off, 401(k) plan participation, commuter benefits, and life and disability insurance.
