Responsibilities Work in a Level 2 NICU with 31 beds in an acute care setting Care for neonatal patients from 22 weeks gestation and up, including preterm infants and drug withdrawal cases Typical nurse-to-patient ratios are 1 : 1, 1 : 2, or 1 : 3 depending on acuity Night shift position with 12-hour shifts; required to work every other weekend and 2 out of 3 holidays No floating required for this position Cerner EMR is used GE telemetry monitoring and ventilator management are part of the role Neonatologist on call 24 / 7; RT and pharmacy services available 24 / 7 On-call possible if census drops, with a 30-minute response time required Nurses may care for multiples and attend high-risk deliveries and c-sections as part of rapid response for neonates Floor-specific orientation includes one shift on the unit Navy scrubs are required for this position Candidates may not have been directly employed by CommonSpirit Health (including CHI or Dignity) within the past year First-time travelers are welcome to apply Requirements Current and active CA RN license at time of application; compact or pending licenses not accepted Minimum of 3 years recent NICU nursing experience required Current BLS (AHA) and NRP certifications required; STABLE certification preferred Two professional references required : one from a supervisor within the last 12 months, and one from a peer or supervisor within the last 3 years, including employment dates and rehire eligibility Copy of driver's license required Experience in ventilator management and use of Cerner EMR required Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-627173.
