The Opportunity A well-designed network is critical to move data and enable customers to achieve their missions, but how can an organization make sure their network will fit their evolving needs? Crafting the right network with the right equipment and software requires a combination of technical skill and careful planning. As a network engineer on our team, youll apply your expertise in routing and switching, network design and architecture, system interoperability, IP engineering, network transport layers, multi-protocol label switching, gateway protocol, and virtual routing and forwarding as you join our team of problem-solvers. You Have 3 years of experience with designing and implementing LANs and VLANs 3 years of experience with designing, deploying, and providing advanced support of multi-protocol IP backbone and access networks 3 years of experience with creating new network architectures or modifying existing architectures to meet changing client needs 2 years of experience with the application of network design methodologies and network architecture principles 2 years of experience with deploying, upgrading, configuring, and troubleshooting multivendor network equipment and solutions Experience with classified networks Knowledge of access controls, network security, and communication and routing protocols Ability to analyze, recommend, and design new or improved operational capabilities across the enterprise network topology TS / SCI clearance with a polygraph Bachelors degree in an IT field and 4 years of experience with IT, or 8 years of experience with IT in lieu of a degree Nice If You Have Experience with network accreditation and security compliance processes Knowledge of virtualization and storage technologies, including VMware, EMC, and NetApp Knowledge of integrating traditional on-prem network setups or service with cloud-based solutions Ability to assist in all aspects of network management, from network design through implementation, maintenance, and upgrading of existing systems Ability to translate requirements into technical solutions that are standards-based and cost-efficient Ability to lead and facilitate technical discussions with internal and external organizations Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills Clearance Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information ; TS / SCI clearance with polygraph is required. Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individuals particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allens total compensation package for employees.
