EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS NECESSARY : WWAY News in beautiful, coastal southeastern North Carolina is looking for a Weekend Meteorologist / Multimedia Journalist to join our team! If you’re passionate about weather, love storytelling, and want the chance to live and work at the beach, this could be the perfect fit.

As our Weekend Meteorologist / MMJ, you’ll be the face of weekend weather coverage while also contributing to our newsroom. Southeastern North Carolina experiences it all, from ice and snow to hurricanes and severe summer storms, so you’ll get plenty of opportunities to put your forecasting skills to work.

What you’ll be doing :

• Producing and delivering clear, engaging, forecast-driven weathercasts
• Using our Baron Lynx weather system in innovative and creative ways
• Tracking and reporting on severe and developing weather, sometimes with limited supervision
• Developing story ideas, shooting, editing, writing, and going live in the field as a reporter
• Connecting with our audience through social media and engaging digital content

You will need a bachelor’s degree in meteorology. Experience with Baron Lynx, ENPS, and Edius is a plus.
