Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg unit position with night shifts and floating requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a hospital-based Medical Surgical unit
  • Patient ratio of 1 : 7 required
  • Schedules include either three or four 12-hour night shifts per week (18 : 30-07 : 00)
  • Every other weekend and rotating holidays are required
  • Floating to other units is expected
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • First-time travelers are accepted for this position
  • Orientation takes place on Sundays and includes required online learning modules
  • Expect to participate in nursing student support and clinical education as part of daily responsibilities
  • Must be able to complete compliance labs 12–14 days prior to start date
  • Scrubs or dress code not specified

    • Requirements

  • Active TN or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
  • AHA BLS certification required
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
  • Tele experience preferred, but not required
  • Traveler’s permanent residence must be at least 100 miles from the facility
  • Facial hair must be trimmed or removed to comply with fit testing standards
