TheLegalAidSociety'sCivilPracticeisseekinganexperiencedandtalentedlawyerwithadeepcommitmenttopublicinterestleadership,practice,andpolicy.ThisAttorney-in-ChargeofCivilCitywideUnitswilljoinadedicatedteamofstaffacrossallfiveboroughswhoarerepresentingNYCresidentsacrossabroadspectrumofspecialtiesthroughourEconomicEquitiesProject(CommunityDevelopmentUnit,ConsumerLawUnit,PredatoryLendingandForeclosureProject,andTaxLawUnit),EducationLawPractice,EmploymentLawUnit,GovernmentBenefits&DisabilityAdvocacyProject,FamilyLaw / DVUnit,andHealthLawUnit.

TheAttorney-in-ChargewillprovidecoordinationandsupporttotheseunitsandsupervisetheDirectorsoftheseunits.TheAttorney-in-ChargeofCivilCitywideUnitsreportstotheAttorney-in-ChargeoftheCivilPractice.TheywillberesponsibleforthesmoothandeffectiverunningoftheCitywideUnits,oversightofthegrantssupportingtheseunits,andprovidinglegalandorganizationalleadership.ThisrolealsoincludesparticipationinPractice-widemanagementdiscussionsanddecision-making,andmaintainingrelationshipswithstakeholdersinthelegal,courts,andservicecommunities,aswellaswithfunders.

Thesalaryrangerepresentsagoodfaithestimateoftherangeweexpecttopayforthisrole.Theactualsalaryofferedmayvarydependingonmanyfactors,includingbutnotlimitedtojob-relatedknowledge,skills,andexperience,aswellascollectivelybargainedsalarystepsforunionizedroles.
