Position Summary :

The Department of Theatre in the College of Arts and Sciences at North Central College invites applications for a non-tenure-track adjunct position, teaching Theatre 245, to begin 1 / 6 / 2026. This is an 8-week 2-credit course.

This position will teach a 2-credit course in stage management. The course introduces the administrative skills sets of stage management, while exploring the relationship between the artistry and execution of producing plays and musicals. Students learn production protocols, create a prompt book and explore the forms and formats needed to maintain professional standards while working with directors, actors and the technical crew.

The successful candidate will have experience with stage management, and college level teaching is preferred. Applicants must demonstrate commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring of students, and ongoing scholarship. Instruction will take place on campus. Applicants with professional experience are especially desired.

Qualified applicants should have completed 18 credit hours of graduate coursework in theatre- related study, but equivalent experience will be considered. Experience teaching at the college level is preferred.

The budgeted salary range for this position is $1,920 to $2,080. The pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors including (but not limited to) the selected candidates experience and qualifications, including equivalent years in rank, training, and field or discipline; internal equity; and external market pay for comparable jobs.
