Position Summary

The Contracts Manager plays a critical role in overseeing the full lifecycle of contract administration for MSM North America. This position ensures contractual compliance with federal, defense, and export control regulations, while supporting complex defense and aerospace programs in a high-compliance environment. Acting as the central point of coordination for all contractual matters, the Contracts Manager is responsible for driving accuracy, timeliness, and regulatory adherence. This role requires strong expertise in government contracting, demonstrated analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple functions.

Key Responsibilities

Contract Lifecycle Management :

  • Draft, review, negotiate and administer contracts, modifications, change orders, and related documents.
  • Manage contract documentation from proposal through closeout, ensuring audit-ready files to support DCAA and internal reviews.
  • Monitor contract performance to ensure compliance with obligations, deliverables, and milestones.

Regulatory Compliance :

  • Ensure full compliance with FAR, DFARS, ITAR, and other U.S. Government contracting requirements.
  • Stay current on federal procurement updates, advising leadership on changes and associated risk mitigation.
  • Government Program Support :

  • Partner with program managers and leadership to provide contractual guidance on funding ceilings, performance milestones, deliverables, and reporting.
  • Supporting execution of government programs by ensuring contractual obligations are clearly communicated and fulfilled.
  • Risk Analysis and Mitigation :

  • Conduct risk assessments on contractual terms and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Analyze performance obligations, indemnifications, intellectual property clauses, and other terms to minimize exposure.
  • Process Optimization and Quality :

  • Develop and implement standardized templates, processes, and training for contract administration.
  • Apply quality assurance practices to reduce cycle times, improve accuracy, and strengthen compliance.
  • Audit & Documentation :

  • Maintain accurate records aligned with federal documentation requirements.
  • Support audits conducted by DCAA, DCMA, ISO, and customer organizations.
  • Lead corrective action planning for contract-related audit findings.
  • Qualifications

    Required :

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Contract Management, Law or related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience in government contract administration, preferably in defense or aerospace.
  • In-depth knowledge of U.S. Government contracting requirements, including FAR, DFARS, ITAR, SAM.gov, eSRS, and CPARS.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, ERP systems (e.g., Deltek), and contract lifecycle management tools.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Preferred :

  • Master's degree in Government Procurement or Contract Management.
  • Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM), Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM), or DAWIA Level II / III certification.
  • Experience supporting defense programs in high-compliance environments.

    The Contracts Manager may be required to support secure or classified programs in compliance with defense industry standards. This role may be considered for a hybrid work model, requiring regular in-person engagement in the St. Petersburg office.
