POSITION TITLE : HVAC TECH
Facilities Technician II - Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning
REPORTS TO : Director / VP of Facilities
SUPERVISES : Volunteers
EXEMPT OR NON-EXEMPT : Non-Exempt
LOCATION : Onsite
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES : An AC Tech, or a Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Technician, installs and repairs various air quality systems. The main duties include locating and diagnosing maintenance problems on equipment, conducting warranty services and quickly performing emergency repairs on certain equipment items. The ideal candidate possesses skills in installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. Key areas include system troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and customer communication. Additional experience with specific equipment, like chillers, boilers, and specific brands, are desirable.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Technical Skills : Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical and mechanical components, and relevant tools and equipment.
Troubleshooting Abilities : The ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues with HVAC systems.
Communication Skills : Effective communication with customers and team members.
Problem-Solving Skills : The ability to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
Attention to Detail : Ensuring proper installation and maintenance of HVAC systems.
Safety Awareness : Adhering to safety regulations and guidelines while working.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced HVAC Tech that is used to routinely install various HVAC equipment, including furnaces, air conditioners, ventilation systems, and refrigeration units, following blueprints and specifications.
This position is part of the Facilities team at CMA. As such the candidate will be expected to perform other duties within the facilities scope of work as directed. Some examples include but are not limited to :
Being part of the ride out crew in severe weather such as hurricanes
Complete daily work orders and projects as assigned by the Engineering Supervisor or Engineering Manager
