Job Summary :

The Laboratory Technician will support product registration and the development of biologically active research chemicals by assisting in the receiving, weighing, and extraction of samples for residue studies. This role involves routine laboratory operations, adherence to GLP standards, and maintenance of accurate documentation. The position requires collaboration with principal investigators, operation of laboratory instruments, and compliance with regulatory and safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Assist in receiving, weighing, and extracting samples for residue studies supporting product registration and research.
  • Support day-to-day lab operations, including sample shipments, consumable ordering, and inventory management.
  • Prioritize daily activities to meet strict project timelines.
  • Interact with LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) and automated lab equipment such as liquid handlers.
  • Perform routine lab support tasks following specific protocols, including :
  • Solution preparation
  • Sample processing and aliquoting
  • Sample extraction
  • Equipment and assay maintenance
  • Operate laboratory instrumentation such as balances, Geno grinders, centrifuges, gas chromatographs (GC), high-performance liquid chromatographs (HPLC), and mass spectrometers (MS).
  • Collaborate with instrument owners and the Lab Operations team to ensure system reliability and minimal downtime.
  • Maintain compliance with all laboratory safety procedures, GLP standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Document all work activities accurately and completely in accordance with established procedures.

Required Skills :

  • General knowledge of chemistry and laboratory techniques.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
  • Strong computer literacy and familiarity with laboratory information systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and recordkeeping skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Preferred Skills :

  • Experience with quantitative weighing, extraction, and cleanup from complex agricultural matrices.
  • Hands-on experience with LC-MS / MS analysis of small molecules.
  • Understanding of GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across diverse teams.
  • Education :

    Associate degree in a science-related field required; bachelor’s degree preferred.

    Experience :

    Prior laboratory experience in analytical or regulatory environments preferred.
