Install maintain and repair as necessary production welding equipment and electrical / electronic components of machinery and equipment. Assist Welding Specialist in research and development efforts to maximize efficiency and quality of welding as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.

Essential Functions

  • Diagnose and repair welding equipment
  • Repair of a variety of building / facility maintenance issues as related to welding needs
  • Machinery rebuilding upgrades refurbishments and replacements of welding equipment
  • Experience in welding metal fabricating automation and latest trends in industry
  • Able to cut with oxy-fuel plasma cutters and arc-gouging
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics
  • Experience in electrical desired

Additional Responsibilities

  • Work in a safe and conscientious manner
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor including but not limited to on-site and off-site training courses cleaning trash / scrap removal and other tasks as outlined by management
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in an effective manner with customers co-workers clients and supervisors
  • Perform daily cleaning and maintenance of the work area

    • Qualifications :

  • High school diploma or equivalent plus five to ten years of related experience
  • Ability to read and write routine reports and correspondence
  • Familiarity with AWS codes and standards
  • Previous certifications in the following welding processes; FCAW SAW SMAW GMAW and GTAW
  • Prior maintenance related experience including electrical and pneumatic desired
  • Experience with automated welding systems and PLCs preferred
  • High aptitude for critical thinking and problem-solving with the ability to think outside the box
  • Familiar with NFPA 70 and the NEC codes and standards
  • NFPA safety certifications preferred

    Work Environment

    General office and production environment. Daily exposure to computer displays and shop environments.
