Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Lead Teacher in our toddler classroom. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys engaging with children through play, music, stories, art, and other creative activities. Our goal is to create a fun, nurturing environment where children can build skills, develop positive behaviors, and form strong relationships.

We are a non-profit organization (not affiliated with a church or franchise) offering a supportive workplace, discounted childcare for employees, paid holiday closures, accrued vacation time, and professional development assistance. Duties

  • Provide care and supervision for a group of toddlers in a classroom setting
  • Work collaboratively with other teachers to develop and implement an age-appropriate curriculum
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with parents and caregivers
  • Supervise and support assistant teachers as needed

Requirements

  • Two (2) years of experience as a child care teacher / caregiver OR
  • AA / BA in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field OR
  • Child Development Associate (CDA) credential

    • Additional requirements (must have or be willing to obtain) :

  • 30-hour STARS Child Care Basics Training
  • Current certification in Basic First Aid and Infant / Child CPR
  • MAT (Medication Administration Training)
  • HIV / Bloodborne Pathogens Training
  • Food Handler’s Permit
  • TB test clearance
  • Successful completion of a full background check.

    • Other skills :

  • Ability to work effectively with families of diverse backgrounds, including single parents, grandparents as caregivers, co-parenting families, LGBTQ+ families, non-English speakers, teen parents, and families navigating sensitive circumstances.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Windows, Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Google Docs, Zoom, and other online platforms.
