Environmental, Health, and Safety Role

The primary responsibility of this site-based role is to develop, coordinate, and implement environmental, health, and safety improvement programs, elevating facilities to best practice standards and promoting safety throughout the organization within the scope of responsibility.
Responsibilities
Develops and implements robust EHS programs, training initiatives, and policies to reduce incidents and ensure compliance with regulations and company requirements.
Provide EHS leadership and direction for management, professional, technical, and support staff in area of responsibility.
Ensure systems are in place to enable area of responsibility to operate in legal and ethical compliance regarding EHS issues.
Leads efforts to educate employees on best practices, precautions, and established procedures.
Provide business perspective, strategic and tactical direction to develop and implement EHS initiatives for the EHS Long range plan.
Authority to represent AbbVie externally on matters related to EHS with external regulatory agencies and non-government organizations.
Maintain a broad understanding of local, regional, and global EHS regulations and practices for area of responsibility.
Leads efforts to educate employees on best practices, precautions, and established procedures.
Ensures compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulatory requirements which include but are not limited to OSHA's Process Safety Management (PSM) standard (29 CFR 1910.119) and EPA's Risk Management Planning (RMP) rule (40 CFR 68), Mechanical Integrity programs, PCI, DOT, EPA, etc.
Creates a safety culture by setting directions to reduce or eliminate operations-related injuries or accidents, damage / loss of product or equipment, and unnecessary costs by ensuring that all equipment and facilities are maintained consistently with safety, security, hygiene, and standards set by AbbVie.
