This role is onsite 5 days a week in Landover, Maryland

About the role

As a Facilities Manager, you are responsible for making sure systems of the built environment, or facility, work harmoniously. You make sure the places in which people work, play, learn and live are safe, comfortable, productive and sustainable. You will contribute to the organization's bottom line through your responsibility for maintaining what are often an organization's largest and most valuable assets, such as property, buildings, equipment and other environments that house personnel, productivity, inventory and other elements of operation.

Responsibilities :

• Refrigeration System Reliability : Maintain, operate, and troubleshoot ammonia-based systems, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, controls, and valves. Ensure all equipment runs safely and efficiently.
• Safety & Compliance : Uphold OSHA, EPA, and facility safety protocols. Act as a HazMat responder when needed. Implement lock-out / tag-out and enforce safe work practices.
• Preventative Maintenance & Repairs : Lead daily, weekly, monthly, and annual inspections. Drive preventative maintenance programs for refrigeration, HVAC, PIT equipment and other facility systems to reduce unplanned downtime.
• Facility Oversight : Manage all facility services including HVAC, refrigeration, janitorial, security, fire sprinkler inspections, forklifts, pallet jacks, and other operational equipment.
• Emergency Response : Respond to system malfunctions, shutdowns, and emergencies quickly and effectively. Train team members on SOP and emergency action procedures.
• Vendor / Contractor & Budget Management : Procure bids, negotiate contracts, and manage service providers. Track facility budgets, expenses, and equipment maintenance costs.
• Training & Development : Train warehouse staff and supervisors on SOPs for refrigeration checks, system monitoring, and emergency protocols.
