About The Position

Job Title : Cath Lab Charge Special Procedures Technician

Profession : Tech

Specialty : Cardiac Cath Lab

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : 36 or 48 hours / week

Hours per Shift : 12 hours

Experience : Minimum years of experience required

License : Radiologic Technology License

Certifications : Radiologic Technology Certification, Kentucky State Certification

Must-Have : Knowledge in policies, procedures, and equipment in cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology labs. Basic computer skills.

Description :

Provides radiologic care to patients for the purpose of diagnosis and / or treatment of anatomic and physiologic disorders.

Operates CT and MRI scan units to perform clinical diagnostic procedures as directed.

Performs venipuncture as required for exams.

Measures and administers IV contrast and / or isotopes for procedures.

Positions patients to obtain desired views and assists with biopsy or drainage procedures.

Performs series of exposures as appropriate.

Prints and develops films and combines them with patient charts for review.

Prepares patients for exams by completing all questionnaires and other necessary documentation.

Educates patients and / or families on procedures to be performed.

Checks preparation and maintains patient exams, history, files, requisitions, and related documentation.

Rotates call assignments as needed for round-the-clock coverage.

Schedules patients and coordinates scheduling with other departments to ensure patient flow.

Maintains and rotates supplies in the assigned workstation and demonstrates cost-efficient use of departmental resources.

Adheres to dress code.

Functions as a preceptor to orient new employees.

Meets all departmental specific competencies.

Adheres to policies addressing infection control, safety, and personnel guidelines.

Demonstrates knowledge of compliance with code of conduct and applicable policies and procedures.

Maintains patient confidentiality and treats patients and families with respect and dignity.

Performs any other duties as assigned or requested.
