Credit and Collections Specialist

Our client is seeking an experienced Credit and Collections Specialist to join their finance team within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The Credit and Collections Specialist will be responsible for evaluating customer creditworthiness, managing receivables, and ensuring timely collection of outstanding balances while maintaining strong relationships with customers and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities of the Credit and Collections Specialist :

The Credit and Collections Specialist will review and approve customer credit applications, establish appropriate credit limits, and assess ongoing risk for manufacturing clients and distributors.

Monitor accounts receivable aging and proactively follow up with customers to secure payments within established terms.

Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies, short pays, and deductions related to manufacturing orders, freight, or product returns.

Work closely with the sales, shipping, and production departments to resolve customer issues impacting invoicing or payment.

The Credit and Collections Specialist will prepare detailed reports on collection activity, DSO performance, and delinquent accounts for management review.

Recommend accounts for escalation, collection agency involvement, or write-off as appropriate.

Support month-end closing activities, including reconciliations, adjustments, and AR reporting.

Preferred Qualifications of the Credit and Collections Specialist :

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.

3+ years of experience as a Credit and Collections Specialist or in a similar AR / credit role, ideally within the manufacturing industry.

Strong understanding of credit risk analysis, collections best practices, and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).

Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.

Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven manufacturing setting.

Target Compensation : $26-$30 / hr
