Job SummaryWe seek a business mature Safety leader that will come in and hit the ground running creating and owning a safety culture and its vast programs and related education and training. Our Safety leader is not afraid to walk our facility and ask questions, evaluate how our people work and recommend safety practices that improve working conditions and the overall quality of life for our facility. You're a champion of owning projects, leading safety teams, communicating at all levels of the organization, while possessing a deep knowledge of federal, state, and local regulatory compliance.
- Responsibilities
- Assess, develop and implement training programs for plant personnel
- Ensure compliance with EPA, OSHA, and other regulatory agencies
- Manage company safety programs and develope Train-the-Trainer Programs for such programs as Confined Space, Forklift, Yardgoat, Tractor, Water Truck, LOTO, etc.
- Provide CPR and first aid as needed and identify staffing that needs training
- Prepares weekly metrics to demonstrate YTD and year-to-year comparisons
- Uphold workers' compensation laws and regulations
- Works closely with Human Resources, WC Admin and in-house Nurse to ensure compliance and accurate reporting of safety goals and reporting.
- Leads weekly and monthly company safety committees, as well as educating teams on expectations.
- Skills
- Proficiency in training and development of needed programs.
- Knowledge of CAL-OSHA regulations and standards
- Understanding of workers' compensation processes
- CPR and first aid certification, a plus
- Has thorough knowledge of the Safety accident / investigation process.
- Ability to interpret workers' compensation laws
- Experience in incident report writing and interpretation
- Meticulous organizational skills, along with the ability to articulate with internal and external clients through strong communication skills.
- Spanish Bilingual, required.
- Competence in developing safety metrics via Excel and PowerPoint and communicating to all levels of the organization.

Pay : $135,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
