Information Technology oversees the effective development, delivery, and operation of computing and information services. This function anticipates, plans, and delivers Information Technology solutions and strategies that enable operations and drive business value. Application Development & Maintenance performs configuration or coding to develop, enhance, and sustain the organization's software systems in a cross-functional team environment through adherence to established design control processes and good engineering practices. This job family programs and configures end user applications, systems, databases, and websites to achieve the organization's internal needs and externally-facing business needs. Application Development & Maintenance partners with business leaders, investigates user needs, and conducts regular assessments, maintenance, and enhancements of existing applications.
Responsibilities
The Engineer, ServiceNow Platform Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing ServiceNow solutions that align with business requirements. In this role, you will :
- Design, develop, and implement applications and integrations on the ServiceNow platform to meet business requirements
- Develop and implement integrations between ServiceNow and other enterprise systems using API's and other integration tools
- Design automated processes using tools like Flow Designer, Workflow Editor, ServiceNow Studio, and Integration Hub
- Perform unit testing, UAT, and manage code movement (update sets) to production
- Execute software installations, creation, configuration, and loads
- Create and maintain release notes, user guide, and knowledge base documentation
- Participate in platform communities and stay up to date on new software technologies and best practices
- Promote ServiceNow best practices and recommend out of the box solutions where appropriate
- Support and guide Citizen Developers in using App Engine Studio and low-code / no-code tools, ensuring compliance with governance policies
- Recommend process improvements and display a continuous improvement mindset
- Troubleshoot issues, provide ongoing support, and implement system enhancements
- Document technical designs, configurations, and development processes for knowledge sharing and compliance
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have :
Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred. Advance Degree, preferred.4-8 years of experience, preferred4+ years of hands-on experience in developing enterprise software and solutionsITIL v4, CSA, CSD or CIS Service Now Certifications is a plusExperience with integration components such as SSO, LDAPExperience with web technologies such as AJAX, XML, CSS, HTML, JavaScript, Web Services (SOAP, REST)Experience with databases and data-driven web applicationsExperience in the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes including client requirement analysis and system design, and / or software engineering principlesUnderstanding of Incident Management, Change Management, Configuration Management, and Release Management as it relates to ITILExperience with a scripting language, such as PowerShell, Perl or Python, preferredExperience with GCP, AWS, or Azure Cloud Infrastructure, preferredHands-on experience with UI Builder for creating modern, responsive user interfacesExperience in building and customizing Workspaces and Next Experience WorkspacesFamiliarity with ServiceNow App Engine Studio and low-code / no-code developmentExperience with ServiceNow AI Control Tower is a plusWhat Is Expected Of You And Others At This Level
