JOB OVERVIEW

The Server (Dining Room Care Manager) is responsible for delivering high-quality dining services to residents in accordance with Sunrise Senior Living standards. This includes providing courteous table service, maintaining proper dining room setup and cleanliness, assisting with special events, and supporting the overall dining experience.

In addition to front-of-house responsibilities, the Server also assists the cooks with basic food preparation tasks as needed, helping ensure meals are delivered efficiently and to the highest quality standards.

Success in this role requires a resident-first mindset, a positive, can-do attitude, and a strong sense of pride in one's work. Excellent communication skills and patience are essential, as the position involves daily interaction with residents, families, and team members. The Server also contributes to a collaborative team environment by supporting and helping train new care managers.

General Dining Service

• Provide support in the day-to-day operations of the dining room while maintaining a high quality, positive, and safe physical and social environment for residents and fellow team members.
• Provide dining service training to new care managers.
• Maintain knowledge of Daily and Always Available Menu items and is able to provide general descriptions to the residents.
• Assist residents with menu selections and respond to pertinent questions about menu items.
• Take meal and beverage orders and serve requested items according to established guidelines.
• Respond to the dining needs of the residents while maintaining Sunrise hospitality and service standards.
• Attend pre-meal briefing to gain knowledge of the meal and meal support activities.
• Follow all local, state / provincial, and federal policies regarding food handling.
• Maintain standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and health standards.
