Job Description & Requirements Specialty : Med Surg / Telemetry Discipline : RN Start Date : ASAP Duration : 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift : 12 hours, nights Employment Type : Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced Neuro Med / Surg Tele RN with an active IL RN license, strong neuro experience, and Epic charting proficiency. Responsibilities Work in a 22-bed hospital Neuro Med / Surg Tele unit Care for neurological and neuro-surgical patients including CVAs, elective spine surgeries, and cerebral angiograms, along with general medical overflow Typical patient ratio is 1 : 4 with charge nurse carrying a patient assignment Shift schedule is 12-hour night shifts Required to work every other weekend and every other holiday Possible floating to the medical unit as needed Utilizes Epic EMR with recent experience required Provide care for complex neuro and medical patients, including strong assessments and critical thinking Charge nurse participates in direct patient care assignments Scrub color required is navy blue COVID-19 vaccine is not currently required but may become mandatory Candidates must reside more than 40 miles from the facility to be eligible First-time travelers are not eligible for this position Must be resilient, adaptable, and work well in a dynamic environment Requirements Active IL RN license required Current AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required Minimum of two years recent Med / Surg Tele experience required At least one prior travel nursing assignment required Demonstrated neuro nursing experience required Proficiency in Epic EMR system required Skilled in NIHSS assessments, dysphagia screening, telemetry interpretation, I&O management, straight caths, Foleys, heparin gtt initiation and titration, blood product administration, venipuncture, blood culture draws, NG tubes, and indwelling drain management Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-631751.
