Groundskeeper
As a Groundskeeper you will maintain the overall upkeep and cleanliness of your property. Tasks include inspecting the property to remove litter, debris, dust, leaves and abandoned goods; cleaning vacant storage units; maintaining grounds equipment; operating small hand and power tools; applying weed control, pest control, and / or de-icing as directed; painting cubs, bollards, doors, or other surfaces; reporting or repairing minor damage to the Property Manager; cleaning and pressure washing all areas of the property; providing professional and courteous customer service; and minor cleaning of vacant residential units. Other duties as assigned.
Education and qualifications include a high school diploma / GED, groundskeeping, janitorial experience, or related experience preferred. Ability to use basic landscaping and related tools; ability to work in all weather conditions; minimum of 1 year of groundskeeping, landscaping, and / or janitorial experience; ability to problem solve, diagnose and troubleshoot basic maintenance issues; strong attention to detail; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; proficient in using basic computer skills and technology; dependable and self-motivated; valid drivers license, reliable mode of transportation, and ability to travel between different properties; growth mindset and willingness to engage in continuous learning; available for emergencies outside of normal business hours.
Job Type
Full-time, 40-hours per week, emergency on-call as needed. This is an on-site position and not eligible for remote work.
Benefits and Compensation
Pay range of $21-$23 per hour. This position includes a residence, on-site, at a discounted monthly rate. Benefits include 401(k) with a 4% company match, medical, dental, and vision insurance coverages, paid time off, and a referral program.
Physical Requirements
To successfully perform the essential functions of this job, the employee must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 100 pounds; walk the properties several times daily, up to 10 miles a day; walk on uneven surfaces and climb several flights of stairs on a regular basis; visually and audibly observe and detect signs of emergency; sit, stand, reach, bend, and stoop for extended periods of time; use standard groundskeeping / maintenance equipment; and convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
