We are seeking a Due Diligence Project Scientist to join our Charlotte, NC team! Come join us!

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Oversee and conduct environmental field assessment activities (soil, surface water, groundwater, and soil and groundwater sample collection, soil and rock classification, monitoring well installation, and reading and interpretation of environmental data reports.

Requirements

Minimum requirements:

• BS in Geology, Engineering, Environmental Science or related field.

• Microsoft PC applications; WORD, EXCEL, PowerPoint

• Excellent written and oral communication skills;

• Strong technical, analytical, and research skills;

• Ability to work effectively on multiple assignments, prioritizing and delegating activities, and delivering on tight deadlines;

• Located with Charlotte area

• 2-5 years experience performing site assessments and preparing Phase I ESA reports (staff would contribute to ESA reports as well as client-specific audit reports)

• Ability to work long days in field, sometimes for multiple days in a row

• Comfortable working outdoors & traversing wooded/forested land (as part of a team)

• Tolerance of weather conditions in the field (summer/winter/insects/etc)

• Good communication skills-field findings often require immediate relay to the PM for additional scope/new work order

• HW-40 hr trained

• Experience with sampling the following: methane gas, surface soils, pond sediments, surface water, and oversight of GW sampling

Technical requirements:

• Performance of site investigations to support due diligence environmental projects, including the collection of samples and environmental data;
• Conduct and document field activities such as soil and groundwater sampling, installation of soil borings and monitoring wells and interviews.
• Management and analysis of sampling data, including summary tables, result interpretation, and sample location maps;
• Performance of Phase I/II environmental assessments of a broad range of residential and commercial facilities;
• Assisting clients with a variety of environmental, health, and safety needs, including environmental regulatory compliance, environmental permitting, and health and safety matters;
• Preparation of technical reports.

Other miscellaneous qualities:

• Ability to travel, up to 15%
• OSHA 40 hour HAZWOPER training
