Labor & Delivery RN Job Details Location : Kodiak, Alaska (99615) - Alaska nursing jobs Estimated Weekly Salary : $2210-$2370 Facility Type : Acute Care Medical Center / Level IV Trauma / Critical Access Hospital Employment Type : Travel Registered Nurse Contract Assignment Duration : 26 weeks (Start : 2 / 2 / 2026 - End : 8 / 3 / 2026) Hours per Week : 36 Shift : 12-hour shifts, variable (straight days or nights) Guaranteed Hours : 60 hours per 2 weeks Weekend Requirement : Yes On-Call : Not required Housing & Vehicle : Facility-provided 1-bedroom apartment and rental vehicle Charting System : Epic EMR Scrub Color : Any or business casual Free Parking Labor & Delivery RN Qualifications Minimum 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience (LDRP skills required) Active Registered Nurse license (Alaska RN license can be pending; must apply ASAP) BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate certifications required Experience with Epic charting system preferred Willingness to float within scope to meet facility needs Ability to work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year) Permanent address must be at least 50 miles from facility (no local candidates) Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years Facility only accepts Hepatitis B vaccines Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities Deliver comprehensive care for laboring mothers and newborns in a Level IV Trauma, Critical Access Hospital Assist with vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and high-risk deliveries Administer medications and therapies including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, antihypertensives, and insulin drips Conduct newborn assessments, APGAR scoring, and metabolic screenings Support breastfeeding and lactation education for new parents Educate parents on discharge instructions, car seat safety, and circumcision care Monitor fetal heart rate patterns using external and internal fetal monitoring Perform wound care, fundus / lochia / perineum assessments, and postpartum hemorrhage management Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and social services Float to other nursing units or affiliate hospitals as needed Apply now to join our healthcare team in Kodiak, Alaska, and experience a rewarding travel nursing job in a stunning location!
