• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6 : 30 PM to 7 : 00 AM
• 36 guaranteed hours per week (48-hour contracts available upon request)
• Overtime applies after 52 hours on 48-hour contracts
• Every third weekend required
• Every other holiday required
• Float requirement : First to float within skillset to other campuses with 2-hour notice
• Mid-shift float within same campus possible
• Cross-campus floating to locations 8-11 miles apart
• Patient ratio : 1 : 5-7 on nights
• Charge nurse takes full assignment on nights
• Required certifications : Current active compact license, AHA BLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years strong Med / Surg experience and 1 travel assignment required
• Recent EPIC charting experience required with checkoff class
• Navy blue scrubs required with no competing health system or agency logos
• 3 call-ins can result in termination
• May require precepting of students and new hires
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills essential
• Skills include : PIV insertion, chest tube / drain management, CBI, drip management, PEGs / NGs, ostomy care, remote telemetry, blood product administration, NIHSS / dysphagia screening
• Patient population includes : gallbladder, colectomy, appendectomy, hip / knee replacements, ORIFs, GI bleeds, CHF, COPD, sepsis, UTI, respiratory conditions Facility : This healthcare facility operates as a teaching hospital with a 45-bed medical-surgical unit staffed by very experienced professionals.
