Security Officer - Access Control Specialist

As a Security Officer - Access Control Specialist in Watsonville, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an Allied Universal Security Officer in a healthcare setting, you will be responsible for access control duties, monitoring and patrolling assigned areas to help maintain a secure environment for staff, patients, and visitors. Your presence will help to deter security-related incidents, while you provide outstanding customer service and clear communication. Pay Rate : $19.06 / Hour

Job Schedule : Day Time

What You'll Do :

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities :

  • Monitor and control access points to help to deter unauthorized entry into the healthcare location.
  • Verify identification of individuals entering and exiting the premises to maintain security-related protocols specific to a healthcare environment.
  • Provide customer service by assisting visitors, patients, and staff with access-related inquiries and guidance.
  • Respond to access control incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Document access control activities, incidents, and observations as required by site-specific policies.
  • Collaborate with healthcare staff to support a secure environment for patients, visitors, and employees.
  • Adhere to Allied Universal and site-specific procedures related to access control.
  • Participate in emergency response activities as directed, following established protocols for the healthcare location.

    • Minimum Requirements :

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Possess a valid Guard Card or license, preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and / or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
