Description ANTEPARTUM CARE : Takes medical histories of expectant mother Performs initial physical and pelvic examinations. Conducts regular prenatal visits. Consults with the obstetrician if mother appears to be developing medical and / or obstetrical complications. Plans for and provides continuation health supervision and education of each mother based upon her individual needs. Performs venipucture for specimens Regularly checks records for completeness and performs follow-up as indicated. Conducts group classes. PRE OR INTERCONCEPTUAL CARE In conjunction with perinatal team provides ongoing interconceptual care to women. Provides well-woman gynecological and family planning care to clients of childbearing age. Discuss case with Obstetrician to assure obstetrician of specified practices Instructs patient in diet and good prenatal health practices.
