We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our dynamic team. The role involves patient intake, checking in patients, and performing insurance verifications. You will float between front and back office tasks, including running and ordering prescriptions and labs on behalf of providers. The position requires collaboration with patients, providers, pharmacies, and laboratories. You should be open to handling a high volume of rooming patients and working closely with physicians daily. You will be working in a professional medical office setting, maintaining professionalism and strong customer service throughout the day. Flexibility in job duties and functions is required.
Responsibilities
Perform patient intake and check-in procedures.
Verify patient insurance information.
Assist with ordering prescriptions and labs on behalf of providers.
Work collaboratively with patients, providers, pharmacies, and laboratories.
Handle high patient rooming volume and work closely with physicians.
Maintain professionalism and strong customer service.
Facilitate and guide patients for telehealth appointments.
Utilize EMR System E Clinical Works efficiently.
Essential Skills
Medical Assistant Certificate required.
1-2 years of recent medical office experience.
BLS or CPR certification required.
Strong communication skills, especially with geriatric patients.
Proficiency in technology and video conferencing.
Experience with EMR systems.
Strong computer and phone etiquette skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Knowledge of medical terminology and medications.
Experience in urgent care, internal medicine, and EKG.
Detail-oriented with the ability to fill prescription requests.
Work Environment
The position is based in a high-volume medical clinic setting that supports pediatric, urgent care, adult care, and radiology services, working with 17 doctors and seeing over 250 patients daily. The office is located within a mile of several great restaurants, providing a convenient and lively environment. The team fosters a family-oriented, tight-knit, and welcoming culture, offering exposure to a multi-specialty medical group.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fountain Valley, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00 / hr.
