About the Role

As the Product Sourcing & Development Manager, you'll drive our global apparel sourcing efforts, strengthen factory relationships, and ensure our products meet the highest standards of quality, compliance, and sustainability. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in international environments and loves solving complex production challenges.

Success in this role means building a reliable, scalable sourcing network that delivers exceptional product quality while supporting our margin goals and brand values. You'll be the central point of contact for our factory partners—negotiating smart deals, resolving issues proactively, and ensuring every product meets spec. You'll implement clear processes, maintain accurate documentation, and anticipate production risks before they become problems. Most importantly, you'll be a trusted strategist who drives continuous improvement across sourcing, development, and vendor relationships-ensuring our supply chain is as strong and future-ready as our products. Internal collaboration is integral to this role – ensuring common goals are met and cross-departmental communication is strong.

You'll come to work every day if you Get, Want, and have the Capacity for :

  • Global Apparel Sourcing & Factory Partnerships

Identify, evaluate, and build relationships with domestic and international factories.

  • Ensure vendors meet quality, compliance, and sustainability standards.
  • Travel overseas to assess facilities, negotiate agreements, and strengthen partnerships.
  • International Vendor Communications & Negotiations
  • Serve as primary liaison between the company and factories.

  • Negotiate pricing, lead times, and contract terms to support margin goals.
  • Resolve production and quality issues efficiently, maintaining strong relationships.
  • Oversight of Factory Quality & Audits
  • Implement and maintain standardized processes for sourcing and development.

  • Ensure documentation of vendor communications, product specs, and approvals is accurate and up to date.
  • Anticipate potential production issues and proactively address them to prevent delays.
  • Collaborate with Internal Product / Design / Purchasing / Finance Teammates to Achieve Goals
  • Align sourcing strategies with design, product development, and financial goals to meet cost, quality, and timeline objectives.

  • Facilitate cross-functional communication to ensure timely approvals, accurate documentation, and smooth production flow.
  • Provide market insights and risk mitigation strategies to support assortment planning and supply chain resilience.
  • Champion sustainability and compliance initiatives across sourcing decisions and vendor partnerships.

  • Skills & Qualifications

  • 10+ years of international sourcing experience, including direct factory engagement and global travel.
  • Proven ability to navigate the full supply chain—from raw materials to production timelines, freight logistics, and final delivery.
  • Hands-on experience working across multiple countries, with a strong understanding of regional manufacturing differences and cultural nuances.
  • Freight forwarding knowledge, including coordination and cost optimization across international shipments.
  • Deep expertise in fabrics and textiles, with a strong preference for candidates experienced in apparel, bags, or soft-sided luggage production.
  • Background in garment manufacturing and textile sourcing, with a clear understanding of labor rates, production capacity, and cost modeling.
  • Experience working in small, fast-paced companies, where agility and cross-functional collaboration are key.
  • Strong partnership history with designers and product development teams, translating creative vision into scalable production.
  • In-depth understanding of Asian manufacturing ecosystems, including vendor relationships and regional pricing structures.
  • Ability to analyze and forecast product costs—from fabric pricing to labor output—ensuring accurate production planning and margin protection.
  • Expertise in production planning, vendor communications, and apparel / fabric sourcing.
  • Skilled at cross-departmental collaboration and communication to achieve overarching goals.

    We offer a competitive salary ($90,000-$120,000 / year) and a comprehensive benefits package including Medical, Prescription, Health Savings Account, Flexible Spending Accounts, Dental, Vision, Life, AD&D, Disability, Employee Assistance Program, and 401(k). Teammates may also be eligible for 15 days of vacation / ESST, 8 volunteer hours, and 8 company holidays (plus one floating holiday per year).
