American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Castro Valley, California.

Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro Stepdown position requiring a CA RN license and strong stepdown or telemetry experience.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in a Neuro Stepdown Unit within a hospital setting
  • Care for patients with varying acuity levels including stepdown and telemetry cases
  • Patient assignments range from 1 : 3 in stepdown to 1 : 4-5 in telemetry
  • Night shifts consist of three 12-hour shifts per week (19 : 00-07 : 30)
  • Weekend work is required every other weekend
  • On-call responsibilities may be required as needed
  • Preferred experience with Epic EMR
  • Must be comfortable with patient assignment ratios between 1 : 3 and 1 : 5
  • Travel experience is preferred but not required
  • Orientation includes completion of required e-learning modules
  • Only one holiday will be approved for time off during the contract
  • Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility for travel status
  • Local candidates are accepted at a different rate
  • If previously employed by the facility, must have been gone for at least one year to be eligible as a traveler
  • Must be available to complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing

  • Active CA RN license required at time of consideration
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification from AHA required
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a stepdown or telemetry unit
  • Prior acute care RN experience required
  • Epic charting experience preferred
  • Must be able to provide copy of certifications at time of consideration
