Location :

  • Oakland, CA Schedule : Monday-Friday, onsite hours 7 : 30am-4 : 00pm.  Benefits : Benefits for full-time employees include : Health insurance, 401(k) plan with employer matching,  FSA & Dependent Care plan,  Audiobook reimbursement, Paid vacation.

Compensation :

  • $20 - $24 / hr Status : Full time, non-exempt   About Farmscape Farmscape is the largest urban farming venture in the country, with headquarters in Los Angeles and Oakland.
  • We design, install, and maintain urban farms and sustainable landscapes for residences, restaurants, agrihoods and commercial sites.  Farmscape is committed to creating fair wage jobs with benefits including health insurance, 401(k) plan with employer matching, FSA & dependent care plan and paid vacation.

    • Job Responsibilities :

  • Support Lead and Route Farmer in maintaining a diverse range of farms and gardens across the Bay Area Perform daily farm tasks, including planting, watering, weeding, and harvesting crops Learn and implement organic and sustainable farming techniques, including crop rotation, soil management, and pest control Assist with irrigation setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Harvest and prepare produce for distribution to clients Maintain clean and organized workspaces, including tool care and inventory management.

    • Maintain good relationships with clients Adhere to Farmscape best practices  Represent Farmscape in a friendly and professional manner Drive between project sites and supply vendors (valid driver’s license required) Qualifications :

  • Some experience with annual vegetable cultivation or landscaping Valid driver’s license & proof of insurance Ability to learn and adapt to Farmscape best practices Friendly and clear communicator  Organizational skills and attention to detail a must Curiosity, resourcefulness, tenacity and strong work ethic  Physical Demands :   Ability to lift 50lbs Ability to perform manual work, lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time  Ability to perform physical labor outdoors in various weather conditions To Apply : Please send resume to sfjobs@farmscapegardens.com  with the subject line  “Farmer Apprentice.” NO CALLS PLEASE.
