Position Summary :
We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner with psychiatric and substance abuse experience to join our dynamic treatment team. This role involves delivering professional-level nursing care to adult clients with minimal supervision, while overseeing and guiding the clinical and administrative nursing staff on the unit. The ideal candidate will be experienced in psychiatric assessments and demonstrate leadership in a behavioral healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities :
- Provide psychiatric and medical assessments and ongoing treatment planning
- Direct and supervise nursing and MHT (Mental Health Technician) staff
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Maintain accurate and systematic patient documentation
- Participate in clinical meetings, staff development, and scheduling
- Uphold patient safety, ethical standards, and regulatory compliance
- Respond effectively to emergencies and manage high-stress situations professionally
Qualifications : Education :
Graduate of an NLN-accredited nursing programExperience :
Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience in a behavioral health settingLicensure / Certification :
Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of MAValid CPR certificationSkills & Knowledge :
Psychiatric nursing assessment and dual-diagnosis careKnowledge of nursing process and mental health standardsFamiliarity with Joint Commission, HIPAA, and workplace safety regulationsExcellent verbal and written communicationTeam-oriented, organized, and resilient under pressureWork Environment :
80–90% of work is performed indoors in a temperature-controlled environmentPossible exposure to airborne pathogens and moderate risk of workplace violenceFrequent interaction with adult clients (ages 18+), both male and femalePhysical Demands :
