Job Summary Alliant Energy is growing - and we're looking for a Sr. Gas Trader to help fuel that momentum! In this role, you'll be the mastermind behind buying and scheduling natural gas to keep our customers warm and our power plants humming. Remote work will be considered for qualified candidates based in Iowa and Wisconsin.

What You Will Do

• Solicits bids for and negotiates the purchase and sale of physical natural gas commodity for periods up to 60 days in advance. Makes decisions on purchases and sales in accordance with management directives. Ensures all purchases and sales of gas are fully documented and summarized for accounting and billing purposes.
• Monitors reports, electronic bulletin boards, and interacts with contacts at pipeline companies to track key volume activity accounts (imbalance, storage levels, etc.) and takes corrective action as necessary.
• Implements strategies developed by leadership for minimizing ratepayer gas costs.
• Tracks costs, profits and savings from negotiations and trades for management and accounting reporting. Makes regulatory filings under management direction.
• Assists in the negotiation of interstate pipeline contracts.
• Schedules gas on the interstate pipelines and monitors system demand to adjust supplies as necessary, including weekend and holiday coverage.
• Engages in other duties as needed that support Alliant Energy's Values and helps deliver on our Purpose to serve customers and build stronger communities.

Pay Range : $100,000-$130,000 This position is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
