Warehouse Clerk

Entry level work in a warehouse environment, receiving, organizing, and issuing orders of stock and asset items. Provide support in processing returns and maintaining inventory accuracy. Position may require employees to operate motor vehicles and power-driven equipment. Perform related work as required.

Essential Job Duties

The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.

• Perform warehouse duties such as receiving stock items, performing quality inspections, reorganizing, relocating, packing, unpacking, and palletizing.
• Receive, identify and inspect items delivered into the warehouse. Verify all items received against orders for accuracy.
• Responsible for daily loading and unloading of products; redistribute, repack and relocate items to efficiently use the space.
• Support the dispatch process, allocating and preparing orders to issue.
• Assist with regular inventory audits, cycle counts, and full physical inventory.
• Ensure warehouse interior and exterior areas and office are kept neat, orderly, and safe for employees and general traffic.
• Conduct all activities in accordance with Palm Beach County Code of Ethics
• Foster positive employee relations and employee morale on a City-wide basis.

Minimum Qualifications

LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS OR REGISTRATIONS :

Ability to communicate verbally. Knowledge of basic mathematical skills. Attention to detail. Excellent organizational skills. Manual and visual precision. Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple requests at the time, and prioritize. Flexibility and adaptability. Able to shift focus between different tasks, manage unexpected setbacks or adjust to new procedures. Able to follow instructions, work independently, and meet assigned goals and objectives in designated time frames.

A comparable combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position, may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL SKILLS :

Heavy lifting and carrying weight up to 50 pounds may be required. Acceptable eyesight (with or without correction). Acceptable hearing (with or without hearing aid). Must distinguish colors. Pushing, walking, standing, climbing ladders, kneeling, and bending may be required. Sometimes also driving.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to walk, stand, climb ladders, talk, hear, use hands to finger, handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, equipment or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must be able to lift and / or move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Repetitive tasks are usual in this position.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS :

Work inside in a warehouse environment and out-of-doors. In or around moving vehicles. The noise, temperature and dust levels in the work environment is usually over the normal standard.
