Primary Purpose
A highly qualified FERC Regulatory attorney who is able to work independently and has major matter, team and client responsibilities. Work involves handling matters of very substantial legal and policy importance, interfacing with management and teams at all levels, and frequent coordination and oversight of professional teams working on legal matters, internally and externally.
Primary Duties
Performs as a specialist in federal regulatory and administrative law (particularly focused on FERC and PJM experience), provides technical and expert legal services to Exelon Business Units and has a strong, detailed understanding of the electric / gas utility business. With little or no supervision, plans, conducts and supervises large and highly complex legal assignments; evaluates both legal and business risks of initiatives in order to advise clients. Represents Exelon Business Units in both transactional matters, regulatory proceedings, and other relevant matters. Provides legal counsel to all levels of management, including senior management.
Provides lead direction and / or project leadership direction to less experienced attorneys and support staff.
Prepare, and revise as necessary, budgets and early matter assessments for all matters involving outside counsel.
