Overview Kern Community College District accepts applications for part-time, hourly faculty pools on a continuous basis. This allows the division to contact qualified applicants immediately if a need arises without advertising delays. Applications are active for up to two years and may be contacted by department supervisors, deans, or division chairs if there is interest or need within the department.
Minimum Qualifications Master's in music OR Bachelor's in music AND Master's in humanities OR equivalent. The equivalent may be demonstrated through combinations of education, experience, and other relevant accomplishments; applicants claiming equivalency must submit an APPLICATION FOR EQUIVALENCY with supporting documents.
Per California Community Colleges minimum qualifications : demonstrated sensitivity to diverse student backgrounds; degrees / credits from accredited institutions (international degrees must be evaluated). Meeting minimum qualifications does not guarantee an interview.
Knowledge & Abilities Broad knowledge of the discipline with depth in subject matter
Ability to work effectively with diverse students and colleagues
Ability to develop curriculum and teach via multiple modalities
Ability to participate in recruitment and articulation with local schools and colleges
Excellent oral and written communication
